Grinders help protect sensitive equipment in wastewater and stormwater systems from damage by reducing the size of the solid debris that naturally finds its way into storm sewers and sanitary sewers, as well as in industrial wastewater streams. DJ Gongol & Associates represents the
Monoflo Muncher series of grinders, which are useful for solids management and reduction in a wide range of applications:
- Digester recirculation
- Sludge grinding
- Lift station pump protection
- Sludge incineration
- Tanker/honeywagon loading and offloading
- Airport wastewater systems
- Hotels
- Prisons
- Nursing homes and assisted-living communities
- Rest stops and travel plazas
- Factories
Monoflo's in-line grinders have a wide range of features making them useful, durable, and maintenance-friendly. Most importantly, they are
designed without any bottom mechanical seals or bearings, which significantly improves the life-span of the equipment. Other grinder designs use bearings and seals that sit in the flow, and these often require replacement on an annual basis -- or even more often. By removing bottom seals and bearings from the design, Monoflo has reduced the number of wearing parts and improved performance by reducing maintenance requirements.
Monoflo Munchers also integrate the use of a
trash trap, which captures heavier solids without forcing them through the unit. This design feature means more worry-free performance and easier service.
Drop-in bar screens are also available to provide temporary protection for downstream equipment while the grinder undergoes regular maintenance or service.
The
differential speeds of the twin grinder shafts help promote better cutting and shearing of debris like rags and other solids that need to be macerated effectively for the protection of sensitive parts downstream. And with available
spiral and offset cutter stacks, even the worst clogging debris can be torn apart before it ever causes a problem.
